Anant Vrat Katha
Once, sage Kaudinya and his wife Sushila came across a group of women performing the Anant Vrat in the forest. Sushila joined them in performing the ritual and also tied the sacred Anant Sutra around her arm. Soon their life was filled with abundance and happiness. One day, when Kaudinya came to know about the thread, he mocked it and burnt it. After that day, their life changed for the worse. From that day, their life was filled with troubles, poverty, and suffering.
After realising his mistake, Kaudinya went in search of Lord Vishnu to ask for forgiveness. When his search did not lead him anywhere, he got disappointed and tried to hang himself. A Brahmin stopped him from committing a sin and removed the rope from his neck. Later, he realised that the Brahmin was Lord Vishnu himself, who had come to save him. Kaudinya begged for forgiveness, and lord Vishnu asked him to observe the Anant Vrat to get rid of all sins and misery.
It is said that when you observe this fast with sincere devotion, Lord Vishnu blesses you with peace, protection, and infinite powers.
